WHAT IS A PRODUCT MANAGER?

​

As a product manager you develop products to properly tackle and solve real-world problems of the logistics industry. Your job is to sit at the intersection of business, design, and technology and to ensure an atmosphere of cohesiveness and focused collaboration between all team members. 

Focusing on the needs of your end-users, you evaluate market trends and define the business strategy and features of the product. Thereby, you drive the product forward by researching your customers, by solving problems as they pop up, by defining and adjusting the business strategy, and by managing the scope to develop the right product on time.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AT HAMBURG INNOVATION DOCK:

• Guiding the success of a product and coordinating the agile team that is responsible for improving it

• Setting the product vision and strategy based on suitable market research

• Defining the roadmap and the requirements for each product feature 

• Managing the timeline for product development and certain milestones

• Communicating with relevant industry partners, potential customers, and (of course) team members

• Ensuring an atmosphere of cohesiveness and focused collaboration between all team members and providing necessary information and transparency at any stage of the product development process

• Defining and measuring KPIs to ensure your product’s success

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE HAMBURG INNOVATION DOCK:

 

• You have a master’s degree in business, computer science, or something similar

• You are a problem solver, a team player, a market researcher and an analytical genius

• You have great analytical abilities and outstanding management skills

• You are passionate about digital trends and are constantly driven by new technologies

• You got a good sense of design, engineering, and technology

• Working in a fast-paced working environment speeds you up and you usually thrive under pressure 

• With your common business sense and you extraordinary communication skills you are able to establish strong relationships between people
