WHAT IS A SOFTWARE ENGINEER?

As a software engineer you apply the principles of software engineering to design, development, maintenance, testing, and evaluation of a digital product or service solution. Right from the start, you support the team with different programming languages and the right software solutions (mobile, web, back-end processes, etc.). At Hamburg Innovation Dock, you have the chance to deliver software products in a fast-pace environment and to quickly provide innovative solutions for the logistics industry. Thereby you bring the product forward by transforming the team members’ given information into qualitative programs and software and by guiding the product development process with your best applications and software solutions.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AT HAMBURG INNOVATION DOCK:

• Working closely together with the product manager and interaction designer to transform the given information into qualitative programs and software

• Defining system functionality and writing code in various languages

• Creating software prototypes for the product and services in the logistics industry

• Writing, editing, programming, and testing potential applications and software solutions 

• Documenting solutions with flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code

• Applying the principles and tools of software engineering on the product prototype

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE HAMBURG INNOVATION DOCK:

 

• You are a master student or you recently graduated in computer science or a similar field

• You are a coder, a team player, an analytical genius, and an engineering expert

• You can develop frontend-, mobile- and/or backend

• You are passionate about technology, digital trends, and eager to work in a diverse and cross-functional team 

• You can communicate in at least one programming language, but you are also fluently in non-tech language 

• You have strong analytical skills and the ability to pay careful attention to detail
